Arts & Culture

Maurice and Vivienne were responsible for creating some outstanding cultural landmarks both in Israel and in London.

Perhaps the most famous is the Wohl Rose Park, opposite the Knesset in Jerusalem, where some 400 varieties of roses were planted, one named for Vivienne’s mother, and where visiting dignitaries are greeted on arrival in Jerusalem. The Wohl Amphitheatre in Ganei Yehoshua, Tel Aviv, is a thriving open-air performance space which has hosted concerts by many major international artists.

Perhaps their most visionary project was the Wohl Centre at Bar-Ilan University in Ramat Gan, a convention centre combining religious and secular academic pursuits and designed by world-renowned architect Daniel Libeskind.

They also made their mark on London culture with the Wohl Room at London’s National Gallery and the Wohl Central Hall at the Royal Academy of Arts.
